Braille Playing Cards
The RNIB online shop offers ‘Happy families’ braille playing cards.

The traditional card game in braille, for two to four players, the object being to collect as many complete families as possible.

Cards are embossed in braille with the families names at both the top and bottom of the cards, enabling them to be read either way up.

There are nine families of cards each with a father, mother, son and daughter.

Age range: 3+

Priced at the time of writing for around £4.20

But for a slightly more adult range of card games, The RNIB also offer large print and braille playing cards.

Wider than standard playing cards and characters measure 12mm (0.5 inches) high

Different suits are also indicated by a brailled initial: D diamond, X club, S spade, K heart and L joker
